Description1. Psalter. Ff.1-206. Pss 1-147, numbered by the foliator. The openings of Pss. 34 and 38 are missing.
2. Canticles Ff.206-230. Ego dixi; Confitebor tibi; Exultauit cor meum; Cantemus Domino; Domine audiui audicionem; Audite celi; Te Deum; Benedicite; Pss 148-150; Benedictus; Magnificat; Nunc dimittis; Cuicunque uult.
3. Litany. Ff.230-234v. Some of the apostles and confessors, and all of the martyrs were on the missing leaf after f.230. Distinctive remaining saints are Germanus, Lupus, Gatianus and Genouefa. On f.234rv are cues for Pater noster; Et ne nos; Sed libera; Et ueniat super nos misericordia tua Dominus; Et salutare tuum secundum eloquium tuum; Esto nobis Domine turris fortitudinis; A facie nimia; Domine exaudi; Et clamor.
4. Prayers. Ff.234v-235v. Deus cui proprium est . . . ; Deus a quo sancta desideria . . . ; Quesumus omnipotens Deus ut famulus tuus rex noster . . . ; Fidelium Deus omnium conditor et redemptor. . . .

Physical DescriptionBinding: Anthony Gardner, 1947; dark green morocco with metal clasps. One paper and three parchment leaves at the front, one paper and four parchment leaves at the back. Lincoln Cathedral bookplate inside the front cover. On the spine, gilt: PSAEUTIER / .247.
Construction: 235 parchment leaves, foliated in a 17th- or 18th-cent. hand which writes '12618' at the head of f.1. The upper and outer edges have been trimmed and ff.41, 50 and 231 lost since the foliation, the latter replaced by blanks. 90 x 60 (50 x 35) mm., ruled with red ink in 17 long lines. Collation: 1-29⁸, 30⁴(4 canc.). Catchwords.
Hands: Written throughout in one good French textura, the rubrics probably in a different hand.
Decoration: (1) Each Psalm, Canticle and Prayer begins with a 2-line champe initial (blue or maroon on a square gold ground, with coloured floral spray and bezants into the margin). Slightly more elaborate are those on ff.1 (Beatus, a 4-line initial with flowers right down the margin), 69v (Ps. 52, 3-line), 88v (Ps. 68, 4-line), 113 (Ps. 80), 135 (Ps. 97), 159v (Ps. 109). (2) Verses of Psalms etc., and lines of the Litany begin with 1-line champe initials (gold on a blue and maroon ground with white tracery). (3) The Litany has line-fillers in blue, maroon and gold.
